Dino Sgambellone
Chief Dino
Sgambellone is a native of Mansfield and a 20-year
veteran of the Mansfield Division of Police. He
has held previous assignments in patrol, community
policing, METRICH, Special Investigations, and SWAT.
He was recognized as Officer of the Year in 1996 and
Supervisor of the year in 2005. Prior to joining
the department, Chief Sgambellone was a Security Police
Officer in the United States Air Force, serving at
Incirlik Air Base in Turkey and Luke Air Force Base in
Phoenix, Az.
Chief Sgambellone
holds a Bachelors in Business from Mount Vernon Nazarene
University and received his Masters in Business from
Devry’s Keller Graduate School of Management. In
2011, Chief Sgambellone earned a PhD in Public Safety
with a Criminal Justice Specialization from Capella
University. He has attended and completed numerous
law enforcement trainings including the Police Executive
Leadership College. He is member of both the Ohio
Association of Chiefs of Police and the International
Association of Chiefs of Police. He is also the
Project Director for the METRICH Task force; the largest
decentralized task force in the state of Ohio.
Chief Sgambellone is a Board member of Community Action
for Capable Youth (CACY) and volunteers as a coach for
youth sports.
