Support Services operates under the command of the Deputy Chief, who reports directly to the Chief of

Police. Support Services is responsible for the Division’s Office of Professional Standards, Technical

Services, Neighborhood Team Leaders, voluntary Police Chaplains, budget process, assets, purchasing,

contract maintenance, annual report, and assessing and forecasting the training needs of personnel to the

Training Officer. Support Services is composed of a Lieutenant, Sergeant, Officers, and Civilian Operations

Supervisors who are responsible for Accreditation, Technical Services, Training, and Records consisting of

sworn and non-sworn employees.

OFFICE OF PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
The Professional Standards Lieutenant shall report directly to the Deputy Chief of Police and assist that

office with various responsibilities to include but not limited to Planning and Research, Accreditation,

Technical Services and Training.

RECORDS
The Central Records Unit is composed of civilian records clerks who report directly to the Operations

Supervisor. The Central Records Unit is responsible for report control, records maintenance, retrieval and

disposition.

 

The unit also provides administrative and information desk support through police aides, secretaries and

 data entry personnel.

NEIGHBORHOOD IMPACT SECTION
This section consists of Officers who are assigned as problem solving “Neighborhood Team Leaders”,

seasonal civilian clerical staff and volunteers who report directly to the Deputy Chief of Police.

 

Personnel, including volunteers are responsible for problem identification, analysis and assessment methods

used to improve quality of life issues for Mansfield residents. Team Leaders are also responsible for public

relations, neighborhood/business shift development, and anti-crime activities within a geographically

defined zone. Officers with special certifications will be detailed to D.A.R.E. and SRO programs during

school sessions.

YOUTH INITIATIVES

Recognizing the importance of prevention efforts as well as enforcement in reducing crime, especially juvenile delinquency

the Division is involved in, coordinates or collaborates in many initiatives focusing on the high delinquency periods of 3:00pm

to 9:00pm.
